Alejandro Santander
Twenty years building software. I believe in a future in which our tech amplifies our humanity instead of consuming it. A more advanced technology. A world in which our tools work for us instead of us working for them.
I've been all around. A 3D engine that ran in browsers before browsers could run 3D. Decentralized governance systems with no company in the middle. A derivatives protocol holding billions. A security wargame that taught a generation of Solidity developers how to break things. Different problems, same shape — hard engineering.
Here's the thing I keep coming back to. You pick up your phone to wish your mother a happy birthday, you lose forty minutes scrolling, and you forget to call her.
Nobody designed that on purpose. It's just what happens when a tool is built to hold you instead of serve you. Organizing information shouldn't be human work anymore — deciding whether a thought is a note, a task or a row in a database, keeping a filing system in your head, remembering where you put something. That's the software's job now. And getting it right is the whole difference between a tool you maintain and one that actually gives you your attention back.
